The City of Albuquerque offers a part-time Playground Recreation Leader position at assigned program sites to develop children’s social, emotional, and cognitive skills while ensuring safety and well-being. The role provides support to higher-level staff in educational and recreational activities.
Key duties include planning age-appropriate activities, assessing progress, arranging learning environments, maintaining safe spaces and materials, and assisting program participants.
Develop and implement educational and recreational activities at assigned Playground Recreation Program sites; ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children and provide responsible support to higher level staff.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.
This is an unclassified, at-will position designated as part-time and temporary, with a maximum term of two (2) years from the date of hire. Employment will automatically conclude two (2) years from the date of hire in accordance with City policy.
High school diploma or GED and supplemented by forty-eight (48) credit hours from an accredited college or university to include fifteen (15) non-remedial hours in Math and English.
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Classroom and outdoor environments; exposure to communicable diseases and noise.
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for waling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting.
