Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM (32.535 hours/week)

Position Overview

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Educational American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for the 20252026 school year. This full-time, onsite position supports a student who is deaf or hard of hearing by facilitating communication between the student, their peers, educators, and school staff in a mainstream classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa in real-time classroom settings.
• Promote equal access to instruction and participation for the student.
• Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, and families to ensure effective communication strategies.
• Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality in all interpreting assignments.
• Support academic success and social interaction for the student throughout the school day.
  
  

Requirements

• Must meet the State of Pennsylvanias requirements for Educational Interpreters:
• Hold a minimum of a 3.5 EIPA score
• OR hold a current and full RID certification (provisional not accepted)
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred.
• The client may consider a highly experienced ASL paraprofessional, but a certified interpreter is strongly preferred.
