Job summary

Coloma Community Schools is seeking an Educational ASL Interpreter to provide classroom interpretation and ensure uninterrupted access to instruction for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The role involves interpreting lectures and materials, and supporting communication among teachers, students, and staff.

The interpreter will collaborate with the educational team, participate in IEP planning and student evaluations, and maintain required certifications through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree or coursework in an educationally related field.
• BA degree preferred or graduate of an interpreter training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational interpreter services to ensure uninterrupted classroom communication.
• Support and interpret lectures, lessons, and information for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Assist in development and implementation of IEPs and student evaluations.
• Contribute to a collaborative educational team environment and participate in meetings.
• Maintain interpreter certifications and pursue ongoing professional growth.
