Job summary

Preble Shawnee Local Schools in Camden, Ohio, is seeking an Educational Aide to support teachers and students across a busy classroom. The role focuses on assisting with lesson activities, providing targeted help, and reinforcing learning goals under the direction of building principals or designees.

The Educational Aide will help with administrative tasks, support students with special needs per IEPs, and promote digital literacy while using educational technology tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Ohio Certification/Licensure by the State of Ohio, Department of Education.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology tools.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
• Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by reinforcing rules and managing behavior.
• Assist with administrative duties such as record-keeping, grading, photocopying, filing.
• Support students with special needs per IEPs and collaborate with staff.
• Assist teachers and students in utilizing educational technology tools and resources.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, administrators, parents, and stakeholders.
• Monitor students during classroom activities and transitions to ensure safety.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development activities.
• Create an environment for success and foster a love of learning.
• Promote a safe environment per district policies.
