Job summary

Medina County Schools' Educational Service Center ESC of Medina County in Medina, Ohio is seeking an Educational Aide to support students with diverse needs alongside teachers and school staff. The role offers up to 29 hours per week in a collaborative school environment.

You will assist with instructional activities, foster independence, and help create a safe, inclusive learning setting while working with therapists and other professionals. Training and certifications may be pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit or ability to obtain before employment.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting.
• Valid Ohio driver's license.
• Ability to obtain Van Driver Certification within six weeks.
• Ability to obtain ParaPro/ESEA Certification within six weeks.
• Background in sports medicine or exercise science is a plus.
• Successful completion of all required criminal background checks.
• A caring attitude, patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support students in achieving their greatest potential, developing independence, and building positive relationships.
• Provide individualized assistance under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Encourage independence while supporting students' academic, behavioral, and daily living needs.
• Assist with classroom activities and instructional support.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational professionals to support student success.
• Transport students when needed after obtaining the required certification.
