STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical, and academic experience. Responsibilities include:

  1. Become knowledgeable in the PAT Foundational curriculum and provide personal visits using the different lesson plans in the curriculum.
  2. Schedule and complete at least 12 personal visits each week.
  3. Conduct personal visits (45-60 minutes) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with each family.
  4. Plan the visit, gather materials, travel; conduct the visit, and provide documentation of visit.
  5. Develop a comfortable and trusting relationship with each family to meet the needs of each individual child.
  6. Offer a monthly FACE Family Circle that focuses on child development, neuroscience, or parenting topics.
  7. Complete required annual screening for each home-based child on the caseload.
  8. Follow up on concerns and delays indicated by screenings.
  9. Be knowledgeable about community resources and link families to appropriate resources.
  10. Help parents and children transition to FACE center-based, another preschool setting, or to Kindergarten.
  11. Maintain family records and personal visits in the Visit Tracker reporting system.
  12. Promote positive relationships between home, school, and community within a culturally diversified system.
  13. Most work is performed in families' homes and/or office; however, some activities may include accompanying students/families to other locations both on and off school campus.

Adheres to School, Agency, Area policies, curriculum guidelines, and other prescribed instructional materials and instructions issued by the Supervisor and the Classroom Teacher.

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Combination of the following education and experience is the minimum qualifications:

Level 02 - Obtain an Associates (or higher) Degree OR completed 60 hours of study from an institution of higher education, plus 1 year of experience.

Experience should be in the same line of work or one which is similar to the education position the employee is being placed in.

SUBSTITUTION: A Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent degree meets basic requirements for the position.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The incumbent is required to operate a U.S. Government-owned or leased motor vehicle in the performance of duties. A valid State Driver's license is a prerequisite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Good distant vision in one eye and ability to read without strain printed material the size of typewritten characters are required. Applicants must have mental and emotional stability.
