Job summary

Summit Public Schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle seeks a Director of Recruitment & Selection to lead network-wide talent strategy, build pipelines, and mentor the Manager of Recruitment & Selection. You will implement data-informed recruitment, refine selection systems, and partner with leaders to hire diverse educators, leaders, and staff across schools and the Home Office.

This role drives equity, employer branding, and proactive sourcing to support Summit’s mission and student

Qualifications

• Passion for empowering students and improving outcomes.
• 5+ years in talent acquisition with scalable systems.
• 1+ years of direct people management preferred.
• Experience with K-12 education and site leaders preferred.
• Willingness to travel across Summit sites in SF Bay Area and WA.
• Proficiency with ATS and Google Workspace.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass health, background, and criminal checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead network-wide recruitment and selection strategy across sites.
• Advance diversity, bias-aware processes to hire from underrepresented backgrounds.
• Define employer brand, refine candidate communications and channels.
• Build partnerships with universities and agencies to source talent.
• Drive proactive sourcing and maintain active talent pools for key roles.
• Analyze ATS data, report insights to leadership and board.
• Coach managers on planning, interviewing and workflow optimization.
• Collaborate with People Ops to align onboarding and retention.
