Job summary
State of Missouri's Division of Youth Services seeks an Education Specialist to develop curriculum and lesson plans for youth in day treatment and residential programs. You will teach elementary or secondary subjects, implement IEPs, collaborate with a teaching team, and ensure compliance with state and federal testing guidelines.
Responsibilities include preparing materials, maintaining records, supervising youth for safety, and coordinating transportation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with valid teaching certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Documentation to obtain Missouri teaching certification timeline as required.
Responsibilities
- Implement group and individual education plans and prepare learning materials.
- Confer with parents and students; work as part of teaching team.
- Adhere to state and federal testing guidelines; maintain records.
- Prepare progress reports; administer and score pre/post tests.
- Provide Awareness Supervision for youth safety and conduct.
- Maintain security and assist in physical restraints during emergencies.
- Dispense medications to youth and transport/escort as needed.
