Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an Education Specialist to develop curriculum and lesson plans for youth in day treatment and residential programs. You will teach elementary to secondary subjects and assist in special education work.

You will implement IEPs, collaborate with parents and students, and ensure testing guidelines are followed while maintaining records and reporting progress. A valid teaching certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Education and valid teaching certificate.
• Alternative: Bachelor's with ability to obtain certificate within 90 days.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Implement group and individual education plans; plan class work and materials.
• Collaborate with teaching team; develop and evaluate IEPs and communicate with parents.
• Adhere to State/Federal testing guidelines and mandates.
• Maintain progress reports and scholastic/attendance records.
• Administer and score pre/post tests.
• Provide Awareness Supervision for youth safety, care, education, and therapy.
• Maintain security and participate in emergencies to control youth.
• Dispense medications to youth.
• Model appropriate behaviors.
• Transport and escort youth in daily and emergency situations.
