Job summary

The Cottonwood School in California is seeking an Education Specialist to deliver instruction, assessment, and program planning for students with identified special needs. The role requires adapting content and delivery to fit each student’s needs while ensuring access to the standard curriculum.

Under the Assistant Director of Special Education, you will collaborate with teachers and staff to support rigorous standards and equity in education, including EL authorization and credential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• English Learner (EL) Authorization is required.
• Basic proficiency in Google Workspace and virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Chat).
• Experience with LMS/SIS platforms like Pathways, Clever, or Google Classroom is preferred.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Special Education, this position will provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for special education students with identified special educational needs. The fundamental purpose of this position is to adapt the content, methodology, and delivery of instruction to meet the needs of an eligible child and ensure the student’s access to the general curriculum and rigorous educational standards adopted by the School and the State.
