- Identify and develop curriculum suitable for after school and summer programs. Curriculum should be thematic and provide youth with sequential learning experiences.
- Develop and maintain a relationship with the principal and designated school staff. Ensure school goals and needs are reflected in PAL programming.
- Create activity plans. Assist Teachers and Activity Specialists with effective delivery of lessons.
- Work with the Center Director to oversee the implementation of program activities.
- Using data collected by PAL’s Evaluator, staff reports and schools’ input, foster continuous quality improvement of curriculum and activities.
- Provide curricula trainings to Group Leaders, Teachers and Activity Specialists.
- Assist in planning and facilitating Parent Workshops.
- Present ideas and suggestions for improving programs as often as possible. When presenting a problem or offering constructive criticism, also offer an alternative solution.

Additional Responsibilities
- Submit weekly, monthly, written and verbal reports as requested.
- When directed, attend meetings with staff, parents, volunteers and community residents as needed to assist in program delivery and promotion of programs.
- Assist in the planning, set up and cleanup for PAL special events.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. NYS Teaching Certification preferred. Master’s Degree Preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Experience in implementing structured programming for elementary or middle school youth. Teaching experience a plus.
- Must be responsible and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
