Job description

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a management consulting firm based in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an Education Senior Analyst to support national training and technical assistance (TTA), research, and capacity-building initiatives for education clients and program participants, including the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor, State education agencies, school districts, schools, and other grantee organizations.

We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and excited to solve complex education challenges. The ideal candidate may bring significant experience working with English learners (ELs), educators, and/or Federal and State education systems—or may be an early-career education professional with a strong foundation in education, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated interest in developing expertise in these areas.

This role offers the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of projects, work directly with clients and national experts, and grow into increasingly strategic leadership responsibilities.

Our work helps States and other education organizations:

  • Design and deliver evidence-based TTA and capacity-building services through webinars, peer-to-peer exchanges, coaching, communities of practice, and other approaches that lead to measurable improvements in educational systems.
  • Engage diverse stakeholders and translate research, policy, and practice into useful resources and services for educators and education leaders.
  • Develop and disseminate high-quality content related to language and literacy education, with a particular focus on English learners. Strengthen education systems through research, data analysis, professional learning, and implementation support.
  • Develop effective project management processes that ensure high-quality services are delivered on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Take ownership of assigned projects and workstreams from concept through implementation, coordinating people, timelines, deliverables, and client needs.
  • Proactively identify challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions and bring recommendations to project leaders and clients.
  • Collaborate with project leaders, subject matter experts, and colleagues to design and deliver high-quality TTA, professional learning, research, and capacity-building services for stakeholders in English learner, bilingual/dual-language education, and literacy education. Examples include convenings, professional learning communities, steering committees, and technical working groups.
  • Develop high-quality TA resources, including toolkits, monthly circulars, reports, briefs, guides, online learning, presentations, and other products related to the education of English learners and the preparation of their teachers.
  • Analyze research, policy, and data and translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations for education audiences.
  • Support discretionary grantees in the monitoring and implementation of their educational projects through the use of helpdesks and customized knowledge management systems.
  • Apply strong project management skills to ensure work is completed with a high degree of quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Contribute to business development, proposal development, conference presentations, and other activities that strengthen MSG's education practice.
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives and a collaborative, supportive organizational culture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with English learners, multilingual learners, language instruction educational programs, literacy, bilingual/dual-language education, or educator professional development.
  • Experience supporting Federal or State education agencies and/or discretionary grantees.
  • Experience designing or delivering TTA, professional learning, or capacity-building services.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information for different audiences.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
