Job summary

Harvard Education Press (HEP) is seeking an Acquisitions Editor to acquire 15–20 titles annually in education research, policy, and practice. You will work closely with the editorial team to sign and develop books from contract to publication, and manage interns and freelancers as needed.

The role requires deep knowledge of education publishing, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to collaborate across production, marketing, and sales.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of related publishing and/or education experience.
• Strong editorial judgement and ability to manage proposals and manuscripts.
• Excellent communication and networking abilities; proactive and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Acquire 15–20 academic/professional and/or trade titles per year.
• Develop proposals with authors and manage peer review process.
• Collaborate with production, marketing, and sales to reach target readerships.
