Job summary

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) seeks a Specialist, Public Relations to craft compelling stories that showcase student achievement, teacher excellence, and program impact. You will write, edit, and publish a range of materials, coordinate media opportunities, and collaborate with educators, leaders, and partners to expand reach across digital channels.

In this role, you will develop and execute content strategies, monitor trends, and contribute to award submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, or Communications; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Preferred: Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)

Responsibilities

• Develop content and storytelling initiatives to strengthen visibility and reputation of FLVS and FlexPoint
• Write, edit, and publish news releases, feature stories, and award submissions
• Coordinate media outreach, interview scheduling, and press materials
• Collaborate with leaders, educators, students, and staff to develop compelling stories
• Publish content across websites, blogs, and newsroom channels
• Ensure content adheres to AP Style and brand guidelines
• Monitor media coverage and contribute to reporting and strategy
• Support crisis communications and issue management as needed
