OPEN POSITION: EDUCATION PROJECT MANAGER / PROJECT ARCHITECT FOR THE LOS ANGELES OFFICE
dsk architects was established in 2006 with a focus on education and healthcare. In 2020, we added commercial interiors to our services. With 36 staff members, including 12 licensed architects, shared among our Oakland, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, and Los Angeles offices, dsk architects offers the camaraderie of a small studio with the benefits and resources of an established mid‑size firm.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the education division and manage projects from start to finish.
- Produce quality contract documents and act as the point‑of‑contact between clients and approval agencies.
- Serve as guidance navigator with the job captain to complete projects within budget and on schedule.
- Conduct site visits and presentations, and coordinate with consultants and in‑house staff.
- Guide and mentor junior staff, ensuring effective communication and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License preferred, not required.
- 7+ years of in‑office experience post‑college.
- Robust knowledge in developing quality construction documents for public bid projects.
- Proficient software skills: Autodesk, Bluebeam, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and construction administration software.
- Willingness to travel for site meetings and presentations.
- No work‑related visa sponsorship.
- Effective written and verbal communication and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and experience with regulatory agencies.
- DSA experience strongly preferred.
- Professional Revit experience required.
- Experience with consultant coordination and in‑house staff mentorship/oversight.
- Experience presenting to clients and the public.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
