Job summary

Wave Hill in the Bronx is seeking a School Programs Coordinator to oversee learning experiences for students in pre-K through 12th grade, including in-person and virtual field trips and summer camps.

The Coordinator will develop pedagogically appropriate lesson plans with a progressive, social and environmental justice orientation, collaborating with education staff to ensure high-quality programs.

Qualifications

• The Coordinator must have experience teaching with school communities in informal settings.
• This individual should demonstrate cultural competency to work with diverse audiences.
• Must be comfortable teaching natural science topics outdoors and in classrooms.
• Degree in education, environmental/nature education, museum education or related field.
• 2-3 years relevant experience teaching with school communities; excellent organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and oversees all learning experiences for students in pre-K–12, including in-person and virtual field trips and summer camps.
• Develops lesson plans with a progressive, social and environmental justice approach.
• Manages supplies and education spaces; supervises interns and part-time staff.
• Coordinates scheduling, bookings, and administrative tasks with education staff.
