Job summary

New Mexico Junior College seeks a Director of Education Program to provide leadership for Education Programs (Early Childhood, Alternative Licensure, etc.). You will oversee accreditation, compliance, and instructional quality while guiding curriculum development and program improvement.

You will recruit and advise students, teach courses as needed (up to 6 credit hours per term), supervise education faculty, and represent NMJC in statewide education initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Supervisory experience and/or working with licensure bureaus desirable.
  • Experience teaching education courses at the college level preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the college’s Education Programs (Early Childhood, Alternative Licensure, etc.).
  • Participate in statewide meetings for directors of education pertinent to NMJC programs.
  • Maintain national accreditation for continued licensure eligibility in New Mexico.
  • Prepare all required state and federal reports for education programs.
  • Ensure compliance with NMJC policies, NMPED requirements, CAEP accreditation, and federal mandates.
  • Custodian of education program records per regulations.
  • Develop new licensure pathways and update curriculum per NMPED requirements.
  • Recruit and advise students in education programs.
  • Teach education courses (up to 6 credit hours) each fall/spring semester.
  • Supervise education faculty (full and part-time) including annual evaluations.
  • Participate on working committees as assigned.
