Job summary

Alpha hires education leaders to build a campus-wide culture of excellence. As Education Program Manager, you coach Guides, lead life-skills workshops, and motivate students to pursue ambitious, self-directed learning.

You’ll use data and coaching conversations to lift performance, help launch new campuses, and maintain uncompromising standards while inspiring others to raise their game.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation support available): Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; Santa Barbara, CA
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or a related leadership role.
• Experience leading and developing teams of five or more people, including hiring and making performance-based termination decisions.
• Demonstrated success using data to drive performance improvements.
• Experience working with children ages 5-14 in an educational, coaching, or developmental setting.
• Experience building or launching a new team, program, business, school, or initiative, with willingness to help open a new campus from zero.
• Willingness to work in a school model that rejects traditional lecture-based pedagogy.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

What You Will Be Doing

• Writing lesson plans or designing curriculum.
• Lowering standards to make students feel successful instead of helping them achieve real mastery.
• Managing a team from behind a desk without regularly coaching students and Guides firsthand.
• Preserving outdated practices simply because \"that's how we've always done it.\"
