Job summary

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is seeking a Program Officer for its Education Program in Menlo Park, California. The role focuses on advancing a strategy to strengthen human connections and expand rich learning experiences for all students, especially those furthest from opportunity.

The officer will work with districts, states, and networks, building partnerships with civic institutions, community-based organizations, and employers to scale high-quality learning.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of public education and experience in schools and school systems.
• Ability to cohere instructional practice with community and systems leadership and cross-sector partnerships.
• Understanding of educational implementation at state, district, and school levels.

Responsibilities

• Help advance Hewlett Foundation's strategy by building and strengthening relationships with districts, states, networks, civic institutions, community-based organizations and employers.
• Collaborate with Education Program colleagues to expand rich learning experiences and non-partisan coalitions for improving public education at scale.
• Engage partners to cohere strategies around career-connected learning, civic learning, teacher preparation, leadership, and policy environments.
• Contribute to implementing the program’s vision to improve outcomes for students, including those furthest from opportunity.
