Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an Education Program Lead Coordinator for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Administration. You will assist the General Chemistry Lab Supervisor with everyday chemistry needs, develop labs, and prepare teaching aids including lab manuals and rubrics.

You will mentor teaching assistants, monitor grading policies, and help train graduate and undergraduate staff. Responsibilities include TA training materials and coordinating staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED. 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Desired: Bachelor's Degree with a Major in chemistry or biochemistry; university teaching experience.

Job description

Job Title: Education Program Lead Coordinator

Department: Arts and Sciences | Chemistry and Biochemistry Administration

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks an Education Program Lead Coordinator to join our team. The Education Program Lead Coordinator will assist General Chemistry Lab Supervisor with everyday Chemistry needs; assist in the development, implementation, and setup of general chemistry labs; assist with the development and preparation of teaching aids including laboratory manuals, Carmen assignments and laboratory rubrics; provide mentoring to teaching assistants, monitor Teaching Assistant (TA) adherence to grading policies and deadlines; assist Gen Chem Lab Supervisor and TA training coordinator with the training and mentoring of graduate students, undergraduate students and staff teaching assistants; develop ongoing TA training materials; manage and facilitate staff meetings; assist with responding to inquiries regarding Gen or Org Chem courses; other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience is required.

Desired

Bachelor's Degree with a Major in chemistry or biochemistry. Previous teaching experience in a university setting.

Additional Information

The pay range for this job profile is $20.24 - $26.44. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
