Job summary

The NEA Foundation (NEAF) invites applications for a part-time internship in Washington, DC, aligned with educational equity and policy research. The intern will support leadership and development teams through literature reviews, background research, and data analysis, with responsibilities including writing memos and presentations.

The ideal candidate is a DC-based graduate student with interest in education, policy, and advocacy, capable of working independently in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate student based in Washington, DC, focused on research, public policy and education.
  • Interest in educational justice and equity.
  • Preference to candidates who have passion for improving outcomes for all children.
  • Have earned an undergraduate degree.
  • Resourceful, organized and capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Experience or knowledge in education research, national educational reform, policy/advocacy, or related fields.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities that support NEAF’s strategic aims, including research on policy and practice related to equity, excellence, and opportunity.
  • Conduct literature reviews and compile background research; organize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Develop written memos, briefings, or presentations on research findings.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
