Job summary

Metroparks Toledo is seeking a Seasonal Public Programs Assistant to present educational programs, coordinate inclusive activities, and build partnerships with community organizations. You will prepare outlines, ensure accessibility considerations, and promote events while caring for ambassador animals.

The role requires travel between Metroparks locations with flexible hours. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to work evenings,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required with college coursework in related fields.
• 3-6 months of experience in educational/public program development and outreach.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required within 1 year (or as specified).

Responsibilities

• Present high-quality public and educational programs for all ages.
• Prepare comprehensive outlines for each program and event to ensure adaptations and inclusion.
• Ensure adaptive considerations and accessibility needs are represented in decisions.
• Deliver messages for program promotions, introductions and closings.
• Identify underserved communities and remove participation obstacles.
• Implement new programs focusing on accommodations.
• Provide basic care to education ambassador animals (feeding, enclosures, health).
• Transport visitors and equipment using trucks and vans up to 36 feet.
• Provide feedback for program opportunities and adjustments.
• Provide data for program tracking worksheets and division metrics.
• Analyze customer information and feedback.
