Job summary

City Year seeks an Academic Tutor and Mentor to work full-time in partner schools, delivering one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects while supporting teachers during instruction. You will track student progress and foster positive relationships with students.

You will collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team, serve as a positive role model, and contribute to educational equity in a mission-driven environment. Training and leadership development are provided.

Qualifications

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects.
• Assist teachers during class sessions.
• Track and report student progress over time.
• Build supportive, positive relationships with students.
• Collaborate closely with a diverse AmeriCorps team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tutoring in core subjects to students in partner schools.
• Support classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Monitor and document student progress and outcomes.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
• Work with teachers, counselors and teammates to advance equity.
