Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking an Education Manager for Kindred Hospital South Bay in Gardena, CA. You will lead hospital-wide education programs, orient new staff, coordinate continuing education, and support quality improvement initiatives across departments.

The role requires RN licensure, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and BLS/ACLS. Leadership experience in education and budget oversight are preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package available to eligible employees.

Kindred Hospital South Bay, a long-term acute care hospital offers the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. About the Role

The Education Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering hospital-wide education programs, including new employee orientation, continuing education, and in-service training. This role develops and manages the monthly education calendar, facilitates corporate compliance and regulatory training, and ensures staff receive the education necessary to perform their roles effectively. The Education Manager collaborates with department leaders to assess learning needs, establish short- and long-term educational goals, evaluate staff competencies, and support quality improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assists Department Directors/managers with the development of specific orientation and staff competency programs.
• Forecasts and administers education operating budget.
• Plans and coordinates continuing and in-service education for the hospital.
• Develops, plans and coordinates general hospital orientation. Coordinates with various department directors/managers to include their specialty area.
• Develops, plans and coordinates periodic in-service training on those issues identified by the Hospital Quality Council or a designated Performance Improvement Team.
• Creates and maintains Facility specific orientation modules for new IP, new RN and new LVN.
• Develops and administers education operating budget.
• Ensures that the hospital's employees receive compliance training and all education necessary to perform their job responsibilities, as required by the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement.
• Develops, designs and provides for a written scope of services, departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provision and integration of services according to mission and vision of the hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Masters Preferred
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Required Skills

• Five years of experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical and/or ICU/CCU setting (Preferred)

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with clinical education
• Prior experience in a leadership or interim management role

Pay range and compensation package

• Eligibility to participate in short term incentive bonus plan based on individual and organizational performance
