About The Job

Waccamaw EOC is looking to hire an Education Manager. Under the supervision of the Head Start Director, using analytical judgment, coordinates and implements all activities of the education component to provide developmentally appropriate activities for children enrolled in the Head Start Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve educational objectives.
• Create a supportive social and emotional climate in each center; promote physical growth, safety, and supervision.
• Assist parents in increasing observation skills and sharing assessments.
• Develop programs for children with diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Supervise the observation and evaluation of children's growth and development.
• Ensure a safe, conducive learning environment meeting licensing requirements.
• Coordinate with other programs and develop parent involvement methods.
• Oversee assessment implementation and develop daily lesson plans.
• Monitor budgets and set annual goals with supervisors.
• Serve as a technical advisor and manage staff evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate with other managers on data analysis and transition procedures.
• Assist in increasing in-kind services and donations.
• Perform other duties as assigned within guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent with experience.
• Minimum 5 years supervising a team of 50+ professionals.
• Strong communication skills and report writing experience.
• Knowledge of human relations and community engagement.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to attend meetings.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and pass background, drug, health, and TB screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience directing a child care program.
• Knowledge of management and community action concepts.
