The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is seeking an Education Lead to organize youth education programs, prepare engaging lessons, and support counselors. You will coordinate staff schedules, communicate with families, and foster a welcoming, safe learning environment that reflects The Salvation Army’s mission.

As Education Lead, you will manage multiple priorities, work independently, provide day-to-day leadership, and collaborate with others to ensure high-quality student

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in education or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least two years of related experience in education, youth programming, ministry, or a similar setting.
• Background check and CPR/Safe From Harm training within designated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare counselor schedules at least two weeks in advance and ensure coverage within 19-hour weekly limits.
• Provide coverage for afterschool STEAM programs and camps as needed.
• Maintain Safe From Harm staffing ratios and supervise staff.
• Train and guide counselors on program expectations and safety.
• Provide materials and resources for daily programming.
• Create lesson plans for science, technology, engineering, and math activities.
• Prepare and organize all student program spaces and rooms.
• Communicate professionally with parents and guardians about student needs and balances.
• Track attendance across programs and maintain records weekly.
• Monitor behavior agreements and reinforce center expectations.
• Coordinate snack orders and restock supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
