Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in South Bend is seeking an organized Education Lead to support youth education programs. You will coordinate daily program needs, prepare engaging lessons, support counselors, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for learning and growth. Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, ministry, organizational leadership, or related field preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in education, youth programming, ministry, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare counselor schedules at least two weeks in advance while ensuring coverage within 19-hour weekly limits.
• Provide coverage for Afterschool STEAM University, Homeschool STEAM University, School’s Out Day Camp, Summer Specialty Camps, and other programs.
• Help ensure Safe From Harm staffing ratios are maintained.
• Train and guide counselors on program expectations, classroom practices, and student safety.
• Provide materials and resources for daily programming (radios, attendance sheets, schedules, lesson materials).
• Create lesson plans for gaps, including weekly STEAM activities.
