The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in South Bend is seeking an Education Lead to support youth education programs by coordinating spaces, preparing engaging lessons, supporting counselors, communicating with families, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment where students can learn and grow. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour for a part-time, 29 hours per week role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, ministry, organizational leadership, or related field preferred.
At least two years of related experience in education or youth programming.
Experience providing staff guidance or supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare counselor schedules at least two weeks in advance and monitor 19-hour weekly limits.
Coordinate Afterschool STEAM University, Homeschool STEAM University, and camp programs.
Maintain Safe From Harm staffing ratios and supervise counselors as needed.
Train counselors on program expectations, classroom practices, and safety.
Provide materials and resources for daily programming and lessons.
Create lesson plans for weekly STEM activities during gaps or absences.
Organize student program areas and communicate with families regarding needs and balances.
Track attendance across programs and ensure weekly records are updated.
