Job summary

Gensler in Chicago is seeking a Designer to join our interiors practice. You will combine creativity and technical knowledge to deliver purposeful and beautiful spaces for clients in education, healthcare, and more. A portfolio of education interior projects and strong leadership skills are essential, with proficiency in Revit and related software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design or architecture from an accredited program.
• 2+ years of design leadership for interior design and/or architecture projects; education projects preferred.
• LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred.
• Experience delivering sustainable design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client needs, space planning, and develop schematic through construction documentation.
• Perform design work requiring independent judgment and adaptation of techniques.
• Assist in selection of FF&E, color palettes, lighting, and finishes.
• Create 3D design concepts using Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
• Produce interior finishes, ceilings, elevations, and construction specifications.
• Collaborate with external consultants, product reps, and fabricators.
