The mission of the Latino Center of the Midlands (LCM) is to cultivate generations of engaged, thriving Latinos through educational foundations, workforce development, and leadership opportunities.
The Education & Innovation Coordinator supports the day-to-day implementation, and delivery of LCM's workforce Education initiatives.
The position's primary responsibilities are program coordination and implementation, with regular instructional, workshop-facilitation, and individualized participant-support responsibilities.
Under the direction of the Education and Innovation Program Manager, the Coordinator/Instructor coordinates classes, workshops, assessments, participant communication, records, and learning opportunities that strengthen participants' educational, digital, employment, and entrepreneurial skills.
The position directly implements Adult Education initiatives established by the Program Manager, including workforce education, artificial intelligence (AI), digital skills, NCRC/WorkKeys, job-readiness programming, and other innovative learning opportunities.

Comfortable teaching, facilitating workshops, and providing individualized participant support.

Coordinate Adult Education classes, workshops, orientations, assessments, testing, events, and outreach activities under the direction of the Education and Innovation Program Manager.
Implement assigned program activities, processes, and initiatives in accordance with established Education goals, curriculum, procedures, and performance expectations.
Coordinate classroom and workshop schedules, instructional materials, technology, assessments, participant communications, and other logistical requirements.
Maintain assigned program calendars and coordinate classroom and meeting space with appropriate LCM staff.
Ensure computers, Chromebooks, tablets, virtual-learning platforms, presentation equipment, AI tools, and other instructional technology are appropriately prepared for program activities.
Support student recruitment, enrollment, orientation, placement, attendance, retention, assessments, and course or workshop completion.
Respond to participant inquiries regarding classes, workshops, assessments, enrollment, schedules, and available program opportunities.
Conduct timely follow-up with participants regarding attendance, participation, assessments, progress, and program requirements.
Document participant follow-up and promptly communicate significant attendance, engagement, performance, or other concerns to the Education and Innovation Program Manager.
Identify participant needs or barriers and, in coordination with the Program Manager, connect individuals with appropriate LCM programs, workforce services, educational opportunities, and community resources.
Regularly deliver assigned adult education classes, workshops, and learning activities using effective instructional techniques that promote participant engagement, skill development, and achievement of established learning objectives.
Develop and maintain lesson plans, instructional activities, presentations, resources, and other learning materials consistent with established curriculum and program goals.
Facilitate workforce education and supplemental learning opportunities, including job-readiness and employability skills, résumé development, interview preparation, job-search strategies, digital literacy, and other relevant educational or workforce topics.
Coordinate and facilitate NCRC/WorkKeys preparation, testing activities, and related participant support in accordance with applicable program requirements and training.
Provide temporary instructional coverage for other adult education classes when necessary and assigned.
Support participant assessments and use assessment results, participant feedback, and instructional observations to strengthen learning activities.
Implement AI learning opportunities established in coordination with the Education and Innovation Program Manager and provide hands-on support to participants in the practical and responsible use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Facilitate workshops and individualized assistance that help participants apply AI tools to resumé development, interview preparation, job searches, workplace productivity, small business and entrepreneurial activities, marketing and communications, education, digital skills, and other practical applications.
Assist the Program Manager with developing and updating AI-related curriculum, instructional materials, demonstrations, activities, and participant resources.
Promote responsible AI use by helping participants understand accuracy and verification of information, privacy, ethical considerations, appropriate use, and the importance of individual judgment when using AI-generated content.
Stay informed about relevant AI tools, emerging technologies, and digital resources and share potential educational applications with the Education and Innovation Program Manager.
Assist with implementation of AI and technology-related learning opportunities delivered with employers, educational institutions, technology organizations, workforce partners, and community agencies.
Provide participants with information and individualized support related to workforce training, industry-recognized credentials, employment resources, postsecondary education, entrepreneurship resources, and other educational or career opportunities.
Assist participants in applying skills learned through workshops and classes to practical employment, educational, entrepreneurial, and personal goals.
Support referrals and connections to other LCM Workforce Education and Innovation opportunities and appropriate external resources.
Maintain accurate and current participant and class records, including enrollment, attendance, assessments, pre- and post-program information, completion, participant follow-up, and other required data.
Collect, enter, review, and maintain accurate and timely program data and supporting documentation required for evaluation, internal reporting, grants, partnerships, and funder requirements.
Maintain organized program records and electronic files, including curricula, lesson plans, workshop materials, enrollment information, attendance, assessments, and participant outcomes.
Review assigned records for completeness and accuracy and promptly correct or report data issues to the Education and Innovation Program Manager.
Assist the Program Manager with reports, participant information, surveys, evaluations, outcome data, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist the Education and Innovation Program Manager with coordinating partner-supported workshops, assessments, trainings, referrals, and educational opportunities.
Maintain positive day-to-day communication with assigned community and educational partners while referring significant partnership decisions, commitments, or concerns to the Program Manager.
Collaborate with other LCM programs to connect participants with appropriate educational, workforce, entrepreneurial, leadership, and community resources.
Provide participants, instructors, prospective participants, and community partners with accurate information regarding Education and workforce education opportunities.
Represent LCM and the program professionally at community outreach activities, workshops, partner events, and other stakeholder engagements as assigned.
Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned in support of Education and Innovation, and LCM's mission.
This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities .
The Coordinator/Instructor may assist with day-to-day coordination and communication involving instructional staff, participants, volunteers, and community partners but does not have authority for hiring, performance evaluations, corrective action, approval of employee leave, or other formal supervisory decisions.
Education and Instruction – Ability to develop and deliver engaging instruction for adult learners using appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional techniques.

Participant Engagement and Support – Ability to establish positive relationships with adult learners, promote participation and retention, identify barriers, and connect participants with appropriate resources.
Data Accuracy and Documentation – Ability to maintain accurate participant records, program documentation, and data in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build productive relationships with participants, coworkers, instructors, and partners.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, adult education, workforce development, business, technology, human services, or a related field preferred.
Two (2) or more years of experience in education, adult education, workforce development, program coordination, community-based programming, technology training, or a related field preferred.
Experience teaching, facilitating workshops, training adults, or providing individualized educational or workforce support preferred.
Experience working with adult learners,/ELL learners, immigrant communities, entrepreneurs, job seekers, or workforce-development participants preferred.
Experience using AI tools, digital platforms, or emerging technologies for educational, workforce, business, or productivity purposes preferred. The ability and willingness to continually learn emerging technologies is expected.
Strong organizational, communication, technology, data-entry, and recordkeeping skills.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
TKT, TESOL, ESL/ELL, adult education, workforce development, digital literacy, or related instructional certification preferred.
NCRC/WorkKeys-related training or certification, or willingness to complete appropriate training if required for assigned responsibilities.
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development related to AI, emerging technologies, workforce development, and adult education.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
