Hampton Roads Community Action Program seeks a Digital Literacy Coach to recruit, assess, enroll, coach, and train participants in digital literacy and workplace readiness. Salary: $23.50 per hour (20 hours per week)
Work Location: Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Hampton agency sites.
WORKING SCHEDULE: This position is designated as non-essential and will not berequired to report to the office during inclement weather. The coach will be issued amobile devices to manage day, evening, and weekend programming at various agency sites. This position will be responsible for attending early morning, evening, and weekend events as assigned. Travel is expected: 75% local and 5% non-local.
The Digital Literacy Coach is responsible for recruiting, assessing, enrolling, coaching, andtraining individuals seeking to improve their digital literacy, workplace readiness, careerdevelopment, and employment outcomes. The Coach will facilitate the Northstar DigitalLiteracy Curriculum, Workplace Excellence Series, and ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)programming while providing individualized coaching and case management services. The position focuses on helping participants develop the digital andworkplace competencies necessary to obtain employment, advance in their careers, access online services, and achieve greater economic self-sufficiency. The Coach will build partnerships with Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS), workforce development organizations,educational institutions, employers, financial institutions, and community organizations tosupport participant success. The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for adult learning,workforce development, digital inclusion, and helping individuals overcome barriers toemployment and economic mobility.

This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the HRCAP's Privacy policy related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.
Current state driver's license, proof of current auto insurance coverage, satisfactory driving
record and working vehicle required. Agency will assist with required Workforce Development credentials. Criminal record check and credit report may be required for employment.
The effectiveness of the performance of the Digital Literacy Coach will be measured by the following standards but not limited to:
Working knowledge of workforce development, adult learning principles, digital literacyinstruction, and employment readiness programming. Demonstrated oral and writtencommunication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to motivate and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds. Moderate to advanced computer proficiency is required, including experience using Microsoft Office 365 applications, virtual learning platforms, online assessment tools, and participant management systems. Experience with successful outreach, recruitment, andcommunity engagement efforts is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to effectively work with TANF, TANFMEW, SNAP Employment & Training participants, unemployed and underemployed adults, veterans, opportunity youth, and other individuals seeking workforceadvancement.
