Shaw Industries' Commercial Sales Division seeks a Director of New Business Development for the Education segment to drive growth across California for Shaw Contract and Patcraft. Reporting to the Western US Divisional VP, this role expands Shaw's presence in K–12 and higher education, wins net-new business, and mentors a matrixed sales team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in business development, sales, or strategic account management.
• Ability to travel up to 30% throughout California.
• Proven experience selling into K–12 Education, Higher Education, public sector, or complex contract environments.
• Successful prospecting, developing, and closing net-new business opportunities.
• Experience navigating public procurement, cooperative purchasing, contracts and bidding processes.
• Strong consultative selling skills to influence decision-makers across stakeholders.
• Experience leading through influence in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to coach, train, and mentor other sellers.
• Strategic planning, account development, and opportunity management.
• Proficiency using Salesforce or similar CRM.

Responsibilities

• Drive statewide growth across K–12 and Higher Education across California.
• Identify and win net-new business with school districts, colleges, universities, and public-sector education stakeholders.
• Develop strategic account plans for districts and institutions with limited penetration or growth opportunities.
• Lead complex sales involving cooperative purchasing agreements, contracts, funding cycles, bid processes, and public-sector procurement requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with education-focused executives, facilities, procurement leaders, and decision-makers.
• Forecast and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce and other tools.
