Job summary

The New York State Education Department, Office of Education Policy, is seeking an Associate in Education Improvement Services to support the administration of over $1.6 billion in federally funded grant programs annually.

The role provides technical assistance to local educational agencies on ESSA program policy and develops subject matter expertise for assigned programs, supporting monitoring and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; four years of professional experience in an education agency providing technical assistance or developing/implementing programs or grants.
• New York State teaching certification in classroom teaching, administration and supervision, or school service (with four years teaching or student services experience).
• Knowledge of ESSA-funded programs and federal grant administration requirements.
• Ability to travel statewide up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Support administration of over $1.6 billion in federally funded grant programs annually.
• Provide technical assistance to local educational agencies on ESSA program policy.
• Develop subject matter expertise for assigned programs and support monitoring and compliance efforts.
• Assist in grant applications, policy development, and training delivery to more than 1,000 school districts.
