Job summary

Centre for Deliberative Democracy is recruiting an enthusiastic Lecturer in Social Work (Education Focused) to advance social work education through teaching, clinical supervision and curriculum innovation in Canberra. This role blends academic delivery with field education supervision and course leadership.

The candidate will contribute to online, blended and face-to-face learning environments, align curriculum with accreditation standards and engage with community partners to enrich student

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (Qualifying) or equivalent is required.
• PhD in Social Work or related discipline is advantageous.
• Minimum five years of professional social work experience.
• Membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or eligibility.
• Experience supervising students on field education placements.
• Previous teaching experience in higher education or human services.
• Evidence of teaching quality, educational innovation or professional training delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching across the social work curriculum.
• Coordinate units and contribute to course leadership activities.
• Lead the development and implementation of a student-led Social Work Clinic.
• Collaborate to develop curriculum aligned with accreditation standards and contemporary practice.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community, health and human services organisations.
• Contribute to scholarship and research in teaching and learning.
