Job summary

The Atlanta History Center is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Education Facilitator for a part-time, two-year position. You will lead on-campus tours for student groups and deliver live virtual instruction as needed.

The role requires passion for education and history, strong communication, and the ability to engage diverse learners. Schedule is 9 am–1 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional events.

Qualifications

• Experience with classroom instruction and/or leading educational youth programs.
• Strong customer service and public speaking skills.
• Experience with digital platforms is a plus.
• General understanding of US history and interest in historical interpretation.
• Schedule: 9 am–1 pm, Monday–Friday, with occasional special events.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and stimulating environment for students.
• Lead on-campus tours for student groups on various topics, using diverse methodologies.
• Provide engaging experiences for school groups from elementary to high school.
• Develop and implement new learning experiences for on-site and online tours.
• Collaborate to research and implement Homeschool Day and Toddler Storytime programs.

The Atlanta History Center is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional for the part-time, two-year position of Education Facilitator. This role involves leading engaging on-campus tours for student groups of all ages, supporting educational initiatives and projects, and delivering live virtual instruction as needed. The position may also include occasional outdoor responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be passionate about education, history, and creating meaningful learning experiences for diverse audiences.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and stimulating environment for students.
• Provide energetic and meaningful experiences for school groups on various topics using various methodologies, including museum theatre/performance.
• Address multiple learning styles while working with student groups from elementary through high school.
• Collaborate to research, develop, and implement new learning experiences for both on-site and online tours that support the mission of AHC.
• Collaborate to research, develop, and implement monthly Homeschool Day and Toddler Storytime programs.
• Assist the education staff with other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma, with at least some college-level education, is considered a plus.
• Experience with classroom instruction and/or leading educational youth programs.
• The candidate should possess strong customer service and public speaking skills.
• Experience with digital platforms is considered a plus.
• A general understanding of US history and an interest in historical interpretation are essential.
• Commitment to work a typical schedule of 9 am-1 pm Monday-Friday, with occasional special event availability required.
