Job summary

Safe Place for Youth in Venice, CA seeks an Education and Employment Specialist to support youth ages 18–25 who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, helping them pursue education and workforce goals through individualized plans.

The role covers GED prep, high school completion, college enrollment, resume and interview coaching, life skills training, and job readiness programming, all in a trauma-informed, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 2 years of social service experience with youth desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years in educator or employment services environment.
• Reliable transportation with California driver’s license and insurance considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct education and employment services to youth ages 18–25 who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
• Collaborate with youth to develop individualized education and employment case plans.
• Coordinate GED prep, high school completion, post-secondary enrollment, resume and interview prep, and life skills training.
• Develop and facilitate job readiness programs and workshops.
• Plan workshops, guest speakers, and community presentations on education and career development.
• Facilitate groups and youth engagement in a trauma-informed environment.
• Establish partnerships with employers to create job/internship opportunities for diverse youth.
• Organize educational outings, job fairs, and college tours.
