Job summary

Acacia Network is seeking a Center Education Director to lead education services across PROMESA Head Start programs in New York. The role involves managing operations, ensuring compliance with Head Start standards, and guiding staff development.

You will collaborate with the VP of Education, oversee assessments, documentation, and family engagement while promoting a culturally competent, bilingual approach. M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm, on-site in NYC.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• NYS Teaching certificate for early childhood, or N-6 or Birth-2nd Grade.
• At least 5 years of early childhood teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, organizing, and implementation of education services.
• Ensure Head Start Performance Standards and safety/service plans are followed.
• Supervise classroom practices, lesson plans, schedules, and transitions.
• Monitor teacher performance and support professional development.
• Coordinate family literacy and home visit activities.
• Assist in transitioning 4-year-olds to kindergarten in September.
