Job summary

The Learning Experience – Battery Park is seeking an experienced Education Director to lead the instructional quality across our NYC center. You will partner with school and operations leadership to ensure curriculum implementation, teacher development, and compliance with DOHMH and DOE requirements.

Responsibilities include coaching teachers, planning professional development, and maintaining documentation for 3K and Pre-K programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
• New York State teaching certification as required by applicable programs.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with NYC 3K and/or Pre-K programs strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of NYC childcare licensing and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee consistent implementation of The Learning Experience curriculum across all classrooms.
• Maintain high standards for instruction, lesson planning, classroom environments, and child engagement.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback to teachers.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Lead and Assistant Teachers.
• Support teacher onboarding, training, performance, and professional development.
• Oversee educational programming from infancy through preschool, including 3K and Pre-K programs where applicable.
• Ensure required educational documentation, assessments, classroom records, and teacher credentials remain current.
• Maintain compliance with NYC DOHMH, DOE, and other requirements.
• Support licensing, DOE, and quality-assurance visits.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, teachers, and school leadership.
• Promote a positive, collaborative culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

The Learning Experience – Battery Park is seeking an experienced and passionate Education Director to lead the educational excellence of our school.

The Education Director serves as the instructional leader of the center, partnering with school and operations leadership to ensure high-quality curriculum implementation, teacher development, classroom quality, and compliance with NYC early childhood education requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable NYC Educational Director qualification requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Appropriate New York State teaching certification as required by applicable programs.
• Experience with NYC 3K and/or Pre-K programs strongly preferred.
• Previous early childhood education leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing teachers.
• Knowledge of NYC childcare licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
