Job summary

Kinder Prep Montessori seeks an Education Director to lead our brand-new Gowanus & Park Slope center, opening Winter 2027 at 247 Douglass Street in Brooklyn. You will build a strong educator and family community and uphold Kinder Prep's standards for education and care.

The role requires a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, NYS teaching certification, CPR, and prior leadership in early childhood settings, plus at least 2 years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Must have NYS Teaching Certification.
• CPR Certification required.
• Director or educational leadership experience in an early childhood setting.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a strong community of teachers, staff, children, and families.
• Guide teachers in implementing Kinder Prep's curriculum and educational approach.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, schedules, supervision, and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain compliance with NYC Department of Health Article 47 requirements and required documentation.
• Support teacher training and professional development.
• Build positive relationships and maintain open communication with families.
• Support school tours, enrollment, and center growth.
• Collaborate with Kinder Prep leadership across our Brooklyn locations.

Join Kinder Prep Montessori as the Education Director of our brand-new Gowanus & Park Slope center, opening Winter 2027 at 247 Douglass Street in Brooklyn. We're looking for an experienced early childhood education leader to help launch and lead our newest school, build a strong community of educators and families, and uphold Kinder Prep's high standards for education and care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a strong community of teachers, staff, children, and families
• Guide teachers in implementing Kinder Prep's curriculum and educational approach
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, schedules, supervision, and health and safety procedures
• Maintain compliance with NYC Department of Health Article 47 requirements and required documentation
• Support teacher training and professional development
• Build positive relationships and maintain open communication with families
• Support school tours, enrollment, and center growth
• Collaborate with Kinder Prep leadership across our Brooklyn locations

Compensation & Benefits:

• Starting salary: $100,000/year
• Fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Three weeks of PTO during scheduled school closures
• One additional week of PTO

• $1,000 annual longevity bonus for each year of employment

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education
• Valid New York State Teaching Certification
• Valid CPR Certification
• Previous Director or educational leadership experience in an early childhood setting
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
