Primary Function

The Education Coordinator provides academic administration, coordination, and support for the implementation and administration of assigned graduate nursing programs. The Coordinator works with Program Directors, Assistant Program Directors, and Chairs of Programs to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulations, and smooth program operations. The role involves independent complex support for programs and committees, and collaboration with other Education Coordinators to ensure efficiency and stability.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate program logistics, manage paperwork, and oversee student lifecycle from application to graduation, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Assist in meeting accreditation standards and coordinate activities based on accreditation requirements.
  • Implement policies and procedures for the program.
  • Work closely with students to ensure clinical objectives and credentialing are met.
  • Develop databases and assess operational efficiencies for accurate reporting.
  • Handle programmatic issues, including planning, project development, workflow analysis, and communication with faculty and students.
  • Coordinate applicant interviews, onboarding, and maintain communication with Directors and students throughout the year.
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff, upholding Jefferson's values.
Additional Skills and Competencies
  • High-level computer skills, familiarity with Banner and Blackboard preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and exercise judgment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students, faculty, clinical sites, and administration.
  • Manage evaluative processes within strict timeframes.
  • Interpret and apply accreditation and university policies, assist with accreditation preparations.
  • Provide administrative supervision and guidance to students and fellows.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Previous university experience preferred.
