Job summary

NepRWA is seeking a part-time Education Coordinator to lead the school outreach program, delivering hands-on science lessons to 5th graders and occasionally to middle and high school students. You will coordinate scheduling with schools and update lesson plans to meet state frameworks.

The role offers 15–20 hours per week October–May and about 8 hours weekly June–September, with some remote work potential but in-person teaching during school hours and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching hands-on science and environmental concepts in a formal or informal setting.
• Ability to develop compelling lesson plans aligned to objectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple contacts and activities.
• Willingness to learn basic database management and use Excel/Calendar tools.
• CORI checks required; own transportation with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school outreach program to 3,500 students yearly with environmental lessons.
• Provide hands-on classroom instruction for 5th graders and occasional middle/high school programs.
• Coordinate program scheduling with schools.
• Update and develop lesson plans supporting NepRWA education goals and state curricula.
• Grow the program to include more communities and populations.
• Track and report program accomplishments; assist with grant writing and communications.
• Train and mentor Environmental Science Fellow.
