Job Summary

Location: Nebraska Methodist College

Address: 720 N. 87th St. - Omaha, NE

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, business hours

This role involves various duties within nursing without direct patient care, including managing continuing education, short-term certificate courses, and skill lab coordination at the college. The position requires prioritizing tasks, collaborating with college and health system leaders, and managing students and staff.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
  • Collaborate with faculty and health system staff to design and deliver innovative, evidence-based content in various formats (live, in-person, online), adhering to accreditation standards.
  • Maintain budget and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure documentation complies with safety, environmental, and infection control standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maximize program capacity and support new opportunities within budget and quality parameters.
  • Manage admissions for short-term certificate courses, including reviewing transcripts, immunization records, and handling deposits and communication.
  • Coordinate schedules and syllabi with instructors and facilitate content updates.
  • Hire, contract, provide feedback, and oversee adjunct instructors' schedules.
  • Adapt to new technologies, work independently, utilize critical thinking, organize multiple projects, interpret laws and policies, and foster cooperative relationships.
  • Adjust staff schedules as needed and maintain skills lab equipment and supplies.

Job Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's in Nursing required.
  • Master's in Nursing preferred.
Experience
  • 1-3 years in educational settings, especially assessment and staff development (preferred).
  • 2-4 years in project planning (preferred).
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Nebraska RN license, or multistate license, or temporary permit.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Strong communication skills, ability to speak publicly, good listening skills, and effective group work.
  • Knowledge of educational principles and adult learning.
  • Goal-setting, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
  • Experience with online education and content management systems (preferred).
  • Flexibility, professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and understanding of regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based technologies.
  • Ability to work independently, think critically, organize, and maintain cooperative relationships.
