About The Department
The Department of Neurology at The University of Chicago Medical Center has a great history and tradition, having made significant contributions to neurological training, clinical care, and the basic understanding of neurological disease.
Job Summary
The Education Coordinator is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Department of Neurology’s clerkship program and other student rotations. The position may also provide support for the department’s residency and fellowship programs on an as-needed basis. Manages schedules, evaluation, and orientation. Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- Work with Program Director to direct the complex schedule development, ensuring consistency with specifications for each student and considerations of prerequisites for rotations, section preferences on timing, constraints on sequence, number of students on rotation, etc.
- Determines special needs within the clerkship and assures that department, education and regulatory criteria are met.
- This person is responsible for most decisions regarding the actual execution of projects, and serves as the liaison between the program director, trainees, and students.
- Managing and coordinating various aspects of the program and working in conjunction with the Program Director and Section leadership to ensure proper completion of projects and responsibilities.
- This position has significant interaction with both University and Hospital professional and support staff as well as outside individuals and organizations. This position requires a high level of organization, foresight and communication skills.
- Coordinates and interprets requirements of the training program, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident/fellowship recruitment, Match process, orientation and employees relations.
- Has a moderate/high level of authority in reporting and ensuring compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Education:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

- Previous experience within an Academic Medical Center environment.
