Job summary

MPI is recruiting a Senior Project Manager in Southern California to oversee education-focused construction programs from preconstruction through closeout. The role requires guiding complex public-sector projects with emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds 10+ years with a General Contractor and hands-on experience delivering DSA/LAUSD projects, using Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project to manage schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of project management experience with a General Contractor.
• Direct experience delivering DSA and/or LAUSD projects required.
• Strong understanding of public works construction and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects from award through closeout.
• Ensure compliance with DSA, local jurisdictional requirements, and project specifications.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, subcontractor agreements, and procurement logs.
• Lead project meetings with clients, architects, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project financial performance, including cost controls, forecasting, and change management.
• Review RFIs, submittals, design documents, and contract requirements.
• Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
• Maintain strong client relationships and drive overall project success.
