Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related work.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to Texas campuses.
• Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and drafting story ideas that highlight student achievements and teacher excellence.
• Conduct regular campus visits to gather story assets and capture photos or basic video.
• Draft initial versions of press releases and media notes.
• Write and edit content for newsletters, social media, and marketing materials.
• Attend and assist with BASIS Texas events.

Skills

Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills

Ability to identify compelling story angles

Familiarity with AP style

Experience with social media platforms

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or related field
