Performs specialized work by assisting summer school teachers in instructing and supervising students to ensure a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment during the summer term. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, setting up classrooms, supervising children, reinforcing lessons, and assisting with special needs students or special projects. The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures.
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's Degree or two years of college (minimum 48 semester hours), or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test, and one year of experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification. Current employment as an Educational Assistant in SCS is preferred. Candidates must commit to the entire summer program, attend all administrative meetings, and be available for setup and closeout activities.
