Job summary

Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles is seeking an Education Assistant to support the daily scheduling and coordination of the Group Visits Program, including the on-site School Visits Program. The role involves coordinating with staff, volunteers, teachers, and administrators to ensure smooth execution of group visit programs and promoting anti-bias teaching.

Bachelor's degree is preferred; at least 1 year in a customer service role is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 1 year experience in customer service.
• Experience in a non-profit, volunteer-centered organization and experience in an education or customer service role in a museum is strongly preferred.
• Requires understanding of basic principles of volunteer management. Professional phone and email manners are essential.

Responsibilities

• Schedule group visits and coordinate the Group Visits Program.
• Coordinate on-site School Visits Program with staff, teachers and administrators.
• Prepare materials for daily activities and maintain group tour schedules in Altru and Google Calendar.
• Promote anti-bias and anti-racist teaching.
