A leading educational organization is seeking an instructional aide for a 7 hour/day position working with students with special needs. This role involves supporting teachers in creating a safe learning environment and providing individualized assistance. With a starting pay of $19.50 per hour and full benefits, candidates should have a high school diploma and experience working with special needs students.
The Auditory-Oral Program is committed to providing oral education for students 18 months through age 5 with hearing loss. Students learn: with their typical peers (in the least restrictive environment), receptive (listening/ understanding) skills, expressive (speaking) English language skills, and in collaboration with families and local schools.

Nature of Work
Incumbents are responsible for providing instructional and behavioral support to students individually or in small groups, and ensuring a safe and healthy education environment. Responsibilities may include: assisting teachers with modifying curriculum, class activities or materials; providing instructional support in various disciplines and facilitating social skills; monitoring students' behavior to ensure a safe and healthy environment; deescalating student issues; providing physical care; and maintaining and preparing routine records and reports.
