Job summary

The Fedcap Group is seeking an Education and Training Instructor in Rockland, ME to deliver Power of Possible and Life Skills workshops, facilitate ESOL sessions, and help participants access benefits. You will work with Families Forward to support program enrollment, attendance, and progress tracking.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and at least two years of adult education/workforce development experience, with a commitment to serving individuals facing

• Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
• Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver POP and Life Skills workshops as scheduled, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and adherence to curriculum standards.
• Conduct Single Stop® Benefit screenings and support participants with applications for eligible benefits such as LIHEAP, Head Start, Free Tax Filing, EITC, and Child Tax Credit.
• Facilitate ESOL ENGEN classroom sessions, including language immersion exercises, learning‑software navigation, individualized guidance, and progress tracking.
• Lead engaging, high‑energy sessions that actively involve all participants and maintain strong participation from start to finish.
• Set clear expectations for behavior, participation, and accountability at the start of each session and reinforce them consistently.
• Use a variety of facilitation strategies to maintain attention, drive participation, and ensure understanding across diverse learning styles.
• Maintain a structured classroom environment that promotes attendance, participation, and completion of assigned activities.
• Prepare all materials and technology in advance to ensure effective and uninterrupted workshop delivery.
• Implement a structured learning approach that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development, ensuring participants gain knowledge, build confidence, and apply skills in real‑world contexts.

Families Forward, a member of The Fedcap Group, is looking for a mission-driven individual to join our team in Rockland as an Education and Training Instructor. The instructor delivers Power of Possible (POP) and Life Skills workshops, facilitates ESOL sessions, and assists participants in accessing benefits.

• Identify and communicate with participants who are work‑ready or ready for the next steps, ensuring timely progression into appropriate activities.
• Provide clear, direct, and actionable feedback to participants, reinforcing expectations and addressing gaps in performance or engagement.
• Take proactive steps to address disengagement, including redirecting behavior, reinforcing expectations, and re‑engaging participants in real time.
• Track and record 100% of participant attendance for all workshops, ensuring accuracy and alignment with program requirements.
• Enter all attendance, engagement, and participant progress into FedcapCARES within one business day.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready documentation at all times.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and case conferences as needed, providing clear input on participant engagement, readiness, and progression.
• Collaborate closely with Career Advisors and Placement Specialists to ensure alignment between training, participant plans, and next steps.
• Communicate participant progress, concerns, and readiness clearly and consistently to the team.

Compensation & Benefits

• Minimum starting salary $46,000, depending on experience.
