Position Focus
Reporting to the Lead Administrator of the Departments of Neuroscience and Physiology, this position will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of educational, communication and event activities for the Departments, including:

  • Education: oversight of the graduate program in Physiology track of the TMMPP, support of neuroscience training grants, and related activities. Serve as the primary contact for Physiology TMMPP students, managing recruitment, admissions, orientation, registration, and placements.
  • Communications: Planning, editing, managing communications and distributions, website maintenance, social media, newsletters, etc.
  • Events Management: Scheduling, resource planning, evaluation, and promotion of lectures, seminars, and related events. Lead staff support for these events.
  • Other: Direct administrative support as needed.

Essential Duties

  1. Assume primary responsibility for programs and operations, develop objectives, resources, and practices to meet goals.
  2. Coordinate daily operations to achieve goals, manage best practices.
  3. Design and implement quality control metrics, analyze and minimize risks.
  4. Develop complex reports and materials.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external partners.
  6. Oversee and monitor budgets.
  7. Develop and maintain specialized training.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Google Drive, website updates.
  • Experience with graduate student activities, recruitment, and enrollment systems, preferred in basic sciences.
